Account creation is not currently required for any features on the site. While we do plan to add features in the near future that will require accounts (features to personalize the website experience, features to track your climbing and training progress, reviews and ratings, etc; read more about those plans here), the gym data will never be behind any kind of wall.
As of writing, we provide the following three ways to create an account:
You can at any time link other social logins to your account or create a local login method if you created your account with a social login.
The first login method that you use is known as your primary login method, and other linked methods are considered secondary. For account security reasons, you will be unable to remove your primary login method, but you can change your primary login method after linking another login type. For example, if you create your account by email/password combination but want to remove that data and login by Facebook's system in the future, all that you need to do is link your facebook account, open up the profile editing page, change your primary login method to Facebook and save, and then unlink your local login. When you unlink any of your login methods, all of that login data is completely removed from our database.
Using the edit button on your profile page, the following is optional data that you are free to add and edit at any time:
In the early part of Q1 2022, we will be testing and rolling out an account closure and deletion method. After we roll-out more features, such as gym check-ins and session logging, we will also have the ability to deactivate your account, so that you can save your information and re-activate it at a later time.
Before account closure features are rolled out, if at any time you wish to close your account and have your data removed, please contact us directly.
